US Department of Labor named Indian lawyer and activist Lalitha Natarajan the recipient of the 2023 Iqbal Masih Award for the Elimination of Child Labor. The award recognized her fight against child labour and modern slavery in India and was presented at the US Consulate General in Chennai, India.
Speaking on the occasion, US Consul General in Chennai Judith Ravin said, “This award recognizes the life work of Lalitha Natarajan that has brought real change to the lives of hundreds of Indian children.”
