Leap to Shine raises $110K for quality education in India

Non-profit organization Leap to Shine hosted its annual fundraiser gala earlier this month.

New Jersey-based nonprofit, Leap to Shine which aims to transform the lives of children through the power of digital education, hosted its annual fundraiser gala, earlier this month.

The event was successful in raising US$$110,000 to provide digital learning opportunities for children in India, a news release noted. “The funds raised will go a long way in bringing quality education to underprivileged children in India and empowering them for a brighter future,” the organization said.

“We want to be small, but impactful,” Keyur Shah, director of the organization said in his keynote address shedding light on Leap to Shine’s mission. Gunjan Banerji, the lead writer and reporter for the Wall Street Journal and a CNBC contributor was the event’s special guest and also addressed the audience.

During the event, the organization’s “Pride of India” honor, which recognizes people who have made significant contributions to society, was bestowed upon Nita Sardana of Innova Solutions, Anil Damani of 27th Investments, and Chetan and Shefali Shah.

The event also hosted a friendly dance competition, “Dancing for a Cause,” featuring 10 prominent community leaders who partnered with professional choreographers to raise funds and awareness.  The performances were judged by a distinguished panel of judges, including Raju Sethi, Aric Diamani, and Anita Singh.
