Shekhar Kapur, an Academy Award-winning director, expressed his appreciation for being a part of the nation that was able to celebrate the success of Chandrayaan-3 landing on the south pole of the moon.

The director revealed in an X post that he had been congratulated by a London immigration official on the success of India’s moon mission, which had marked the first soft landing in a purportedly water-rich region of the moon.

Kapur’s post read, "The question today from the immigration officer in London was not ‘How long are you staying, Sir’.. but ‘Congratulations Sir, on your ‘Moon Landing’. ..”

The 77-year-old director has collaborated with the likes of Anil Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, and Sri Devi, and he also produced the highly regarded film, "Guru." His films have not only received a global audience but have also earned him the position of chairman for the Film and Television Institute of India in 2020.

People all over the world have been sending their warmest congratulations on this monumental achievement in the field of space exploration. Meanwhile, the spacecraft’s rover and lander are in sleeping mode as of September 4, just days after confirming the presence of sulphur on the Moon.
