Man arrested in Canada for allegedly murdering his father

The 22-year-old suspect is wanted in the alleged murder of his father at a home in Stoney Creek, Ontario.

A young man of Indian origin was arrested by the Hamilton Police in Toronto, Canada for allegedly murdering his father in Ontario.

According to the Hamilton Police the suspect 22-year-old Sukhraj Singh Cheema, was wanted for the first-degree murder of his father on the night of February 10. 

Police found Cheema’s father, Kuldip Singh, 56, with severe injuries at a house in Stoney Creek. While Kuldip was rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries later, as per a CTV report. 

Witnesses reported seeing suspect Cheema fleeing from the scene in a small, dark-colored SUV, after an altercation with the victim. Police believe Cheema was in the vicinity of the crime scene for 30 minutes, before the fight with his father. 

Taking to social media, Hamilton Police shared the details of his arrest. He will make an appearance in Ontario court today, Feb. 13.
