The United Kingdom police have launched an international manhunt for Indian-origin man Pankaj Lamba, accused of murdering his 24-year-old wife, Harshita Brella. Her body was discovered in the boot of a car in Ilford, east London, last week.

Northamptonshire Police suspect Lamba killed Brella earlier this month and fled the country. Chief Inspector Paul Cash confirmed on Nov.17 that over 60 detectives are working on the case. The force has also released an image of Lamba in an appeal for information.

“We suspect Lamba transported Harshita’s body from Northamptonshire to Ilford by car. We believe he has now fled the country,” said Chief Inspector Cash during a press conference in Kettering.

Brella’s body was found in the boot of a vehicle on Brisbane Road near Valentines Park in the early hours of Nov.14. A neighbour reported hearing “two blistering rows” involving a woman who “sounded scared” in the days leading up to the discovery.

Chief Inspector Cash stated, “Inquiries lead us to suspect that Harshita was murdered in Northamptonshire earlier this month by her husband.”
