A mist of Marathi spirit was sprinkled in the air. Sons and daughters of Shivaji Maharaj made their way to the lower-level room in the San Jose Convention Center on June.28. The Bruhan Maharashtra Mandal (BMM) of North America’s biennial convention was underway.
In T3, there was standing room only as the audience members spilled out along the edges of the jam-packed hall. It was the keynote by Vivek Ranadivé, the owner and chairman of the Sacramento Kings, followed by a fireside chat with Sanjay Subhedar, MD of Storm Ventures. He addressed the youth in the audience and told them the story of his success, the lessons learnt and more importantly the future as he sees it.
“You have a lot of uncles and aunties who are running large companies. You have an aunty in the White House,” he said as the audience laughed. “You are at the precipice of the greatest wealth and world improvement in the history of mankind. It is the digital age of the AI era. There is no better time to be a young person than today.”
