Indian-born healthcare innovator Maya (Bharti) Nathani has been named one of the recipients of the 2025 Top 25 Women of Influence+ Canada Awards, an honor recognizing trailblazing women transforming industries and communities across the country.

The awards, announced on Mar.4 by Women of Influence+, celebrate leaders from diverse sectors including healthcare, business, research, and advocacy, who are reshaping leadership in Canada.

A visionary in senior healthcare

Maya Nathani, a certified homeopath and co-author of Homeopathy in Respiratory and Dermatology and Role of Homeopathy in Pediatrics, is a pioneering entrepreneur in eldercare. As founder and CEO of Universal Health Hub (UHH) and Reebuk Health, she has revolutionized senior healthcare by integrating technology-driven solutions with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

A cancer survivor, Nathani’s personal experiences fuel her mission to improve healthcare accessibility for aging populations. Through UHH, she has brought high-quality medical services directly to seniors’ homes, addressing mobility challenges and healthcare inequities. With Reebuk Health, she developed an AI-driven platform for early detection of foot health conditions, helping prevent complications and reducing hospital admissions.

Beyond her entrepreneurial achievements, Nathani is a mentor and advocate, leading specialized training programs for nurses and forging partnerships with hospitals and long-term care facilities to drive systemic change in senior healthcare.

Nathani’s work redefines senior healthcare by integrating cutting-edge technology with a compassionate, patient-first approach, empowering both patients and healthcare professionals while driving enduring structural change, Women of Influence+ stated in its announcement.

This year, several hundred applications were submitted between Nov.25, 2024, and Jan.12, 2025, reflecting the growing influence of women leaders across Canada.

"Leadership isn’t just about the systems we change—it’s about building the conditions for others to drive transformation themselves," said Maricel Dicion, managing director of Women of Influence+. "This year’s recipients exemplify that kind of leadership. By recognizing their work, we’re not only celebrating achievement—we’re reinforcing the many ways leadership shows up in the world and the power it has to shape the future."
