Meenakshi Narula Ahamed, a freelance journalist and acclaimed author, has once again captured the spotlight with her new book, Indian Genius: The Meteoric Rise of Indians in America.

Ahamed’s new book profiles an array of influential Indian Americans, including Satya Nadella, Chandrika Tandon, Siddhartha Mukherjee, and Fareed Zakaria, among others. In an interview with New India Abroad, she shared her criteria for selecting these individuals: “By the end of 2006, there was an explosion of public profiles of Indian CEOs, doctors, and public policy experts. Indians were playing an increasingly influential role in American life, often having an outsized impact compared to their population size.”
