MI New York (MI NY) put on a good performance against the Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR), defeating the latter by 105 runs in the sixth game of the Major League Cricket (MLC). Before bowling out the Los Angeles Knight Riders for just 50 runs, the MI New York scored 155/8 in their 20 overs at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
Dewald Brevis, who opened for MI New York hammered a six and a four in Lockie Ferguson's first over and smashed a string of boundaries to get the team to a fast start (16/0) in the innings. However his stint was short-lived, as he was dismissed for 15 when Corne Dry trapped him in front of the stumps.
As wickets continued to fall for New York at regular intervals as they lingered at 63/4 midway through the innings, the Knight Riders from this point on tightened the screws with the help of their captain Sunil Narine and spinner Adam Zampa.
Australia's Tim David kept the scoreboard moving even as wickets continued to fall at the other end. His hitting allowed New York to finish at 155/8 in 20 overs after scoring 62 runs in the final five overs. With four boundaries and four sixes off of 21 balls, David finished the innings unbeaten at 48 and earned the Player of the Match award.
