Billionaire Anand Mahindra was among the many voices celebrating Kash Patel’s appointment as the new Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the chairman of Mahindra Group shared his thoughts on Patel’s tough persona, writing: "Doesn’t look like you can mess with this guy… 'Mind it.'"

Patel, a 44-year-old Republican and a first-generation Indian American, took the oath of office on Feb.21, placing his hand on the Hindu holy book Bhagavad Gita. His appointment has drawn praise from Indian and international figures, with many hailing it as a testament to diversity and the strength of the American political system.

Indian politician Karti P. Chidambaram echoed this sentiment, posting: "It’s a testimony to the U.S. Constitution that a person belonging to an ethnic & religious minority grouping can become the Director of the FBI.” He added that it is “practically unthinkable here in India under the present political dispensation.”

Patrick Brauckmann, a Canadian-origin Sanatani by practice, also reacted with enthusiasm, highlighting the significance of Patel taking the oath on the Bhagavad Gita. He referred to Patel as a "cult hero" and remarked on the moment's uniqueness, saying it felt like a time when "Krishna is now in charge."

Following his swearing-in, Patel addressed the audience, emphasizing that his appointment symbolized the resilience of the "American dream”.

"A first-generation Indian leading the FBI is a testament to what is possible in this country. The American dream is alive and well," he said.
