The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York is set to host eight matches of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, including a high-profile match between India and Pakistan on June 9.

The construction of the 34,000-seat modular stadium is currently underway. It is expected to be completed within three months.

The stadium will possess a variety of seating options, including cabanas and a special party deck in addition to VIP and hospitality suites, premium and general admission.

“We are excited to be unveiling the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024," ICC chief executive Geoff Allardice said. “It is an incredibly important milestone in the lead-up to the biggest ICC event ever, with work commencing on the stadium which will be able to accommodate 34,000 cricket fans."

The grandstands, which were originally intended for the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, are being converted into a new location for the T20 World Cup. Centered around sustainability, the stadium is planned with modern media and broadcast rooms, a designated fan zone, and a range of food and beverage establishments.

Populous, the design studio behind the project, is well-known for producing some of the most famous stadiums in the world, including the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London and the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The stadium, located 30 miles east of Manhattan, will offer ample parking and transportation options. There are also three nearby rail stations.

T20 World Cup matches, starting with an encounter between Sri Lanka and South Africa on June 3, will take place at the stadium.
