The National Police Association (NPA) has backed the nomination of Kash Patel for the position of Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), citing his extensive experience in law enforcement, national security, and public service.

In a statement, the NPA emphasized Patel’s proven leadership and his ability to strengthen trust between law enforcement agencies and the public. “Kash Patel’s record of service demonstrates his unwavering dedication to upholding the rule of law, defending justice, and ensuring the safety of the American people,” the NPA said.

Patel’s career spans roles as a federal prosecutor, where he targeted international drug trafficking and violent crime, and as a legal liaison to the Joint Special Operations Command, working on high-stakes operations with federal, state, and local agencies. His tenure as Senior Counsel to the House Intelligence Committee saw him advocate for institutional integrity, exposing misconduct and earning the respect of law enforcement professionals.

“Effective leadership at the FBI is critical for public trust and interagency coordination,” the NPA added, highlighting Patel’s expertise in counterterrorism, intelligence, and complex operational challenges. His experience as Chief of Staff to the Acting Secretary of Defense was noted as further evidence of his readiness for the role.

The association called Patel’s potential appointment a “pivotal moment” for law enforcement, expressing confidence in his ability to restore public faith in the FBI and enhance collaboration with police forces nationwide.
