Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment, a company established by actor Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan are joining forces for a new Bollywood series set to release in 2025.
The untitled project, produced by Gauri Khan and directed by Aryan Khan, marks Aryan’s debut as a creator and director. The announcement was made at an event in Los Angeles this week, hosted by Netflix’s chief content officer, Bela Bajaria, showcasing the most ambitious international titles coming to the streaming platform next year.
Set in the vibrant world of Bollywood, the multi-genre series promises an entertaining exploration of an outsider’s journey through the glamorous yet challenging film industry. With a blend of humor, high-stakes drama, and larger-than-life characters, the show offers a tongue-in-cheek take on Indian cinema, featuring several blockbuster cameos.
This collaboration between Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment marks their sixth partnership, following successful projects such as Darlings, Bhakshak, Class of ’83, Betaal, and Bard of Blood.
Shah Rukh Khan, a key figure in the series, expressed his excitement about the project, calling it a “refreshing look into the cinematic world” and a celebration of hustle and entertainment.
“We are excited to present this new series with Netflix that offers a refreshing look into the glamorous cinematic world and what it takes to succeed as an outsider. It’s a unique narrative brought to life by Aryan, many passionate minds and the team at Red Chillies Entertainment. This one’s going to be all heart, all hustle, and a whole lot of entertainment,” the actor said.
Monika Shergill, Netflix India’s VP of Content, praised Aryan Khan’s bold vision for the series, which she believes will be both unique and thoroughly entertaining. “We’re thrilled to partner with Red Chillies Entertainment once again — this time, for a very special series, directed by Aryan Khan. Aryan brings a bold and dynamic directorial vision, and has created something truly one-of-a-kind and thoroughly entertaining. It builds on our shared passion for fresh voices and quality storytelling, and we can’t wait for our members to watch it.”
