Netflix unveiled the trailer for ‘The Roshans’, an upcoming docu-series chronicling the legacy of one of Indian cinema’s most influential families. The series, directed by Shashi Ranjan and produced by Rakesh Roshan, premieres globally on January 17.
The series explores the Roshans’ journey from Roshan Lal Nagrath, a trailblazing music composer who defined an era with his timeless melodies, to his sons—filmmaker Rakesh Roshan and music director Rajesh Roshan—who established their distinct identities in Bollywood. https://youtu.be/yJ8LHCeqxSw
The story extends to Hrithik Roshan, Rakesh’s son, whose transformation from a shy newcomer to an international superstar epitomizes the family’s spirit of resilience and innovation.
Through a blend of archival footage and personal anecdotes, the series captures key milestones in the Roshan family’s career. Bollywood icons, including filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actor Shah Rukh Khan, share their memories of collaborating with the Roshans. Bhansali reflects on the enduring impact of Roshan Lal’s music, while Khan recounts Rakesh Roshan’s cinematic vision in films like Karan Arjun.
The series also highlights Hrithik Roshan’s rise to fame, beginning with his breakout role in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. It delves into his journey of overcoming challenges to redefine Indian cinema through blockbusters like Koi Mil Gaya, Dhoom 2, Krrish, Super 30, and War.
Described as a celebration of dreams, family, and the magic of cinema, The Roshans aims to inspire audiences worldwide. “It’s not just a story of success but of unity and perseverance,” Rakesh Roshan said in a statement.
