Over 50 community and cultural organizations from New England joined forces to extend a warm welcome to the newly appointed Consul General of India, Binaya Srikant Pradhan.

Hosted by the Foundation of Indian Associations (FIA) New England, the grand reception took place in Massachusetts, drawing an audience of over 200 individuals representing various local Indian groups.

FIA-NE led by Abhishek Singh orchestrated an evening that commenced with cultural performances, setting the stage for a night of celebration. The cultural segment, featuring traditional dances and musical renditions, showcased India's rich heritage and the talent within the community.

Consul General Binaya Srikant Pradhan, addressed various topics of significance, followed by an interactive session allowing attendees to engage directly with the chief guest.

Acknowledging the significant Indian diaspora in New England, Consul General Pradhan assured his commitment to establishing a VFS Service Center in the Boston area, recognizing the convenience it would offer to the local Indian population. Additionally, he expressed willingness to pursue the possibility of a direct flight from Boston to India, citing previous experiences and government support for such initiatives.

In recognition of his outstanding community service in education, the Consul General presented a lifetime award to Giri Vardhan during the event.

Furthermore, the FIA-NE announced plans for the Third International India Day Parade to be held on Aug. 10, 2024, in Boston Harbor, inviting Consul General Pradhan as the guest of honor. The parade, which garners participation from over 35 countries, aims to celebrate Indian culture on a global scale.
