Salem Media Group, a leading provider of conservative and Christian content, has launched a new political documentary, Government Gangsters, featuring Indian-American Kashyap "Kash" Patel, a former top official in the Trump administration.

The documentary, now streaming on SalemNOW, delves into Patel's perspective on the alleged inner workings of the "deep state" within U.S. government institutions. Produced by Steve Bannon and Dan Fleuette, the film aims to expose what it describes as corruption and manipulation by unelected officials within the government.

Kash Patel, a prominent figure in conservative circles, served in several high-level positions during Donald Trump’s presidency, including chief of staff to the acting U.S. Secretary of Defense and senior advisor to the Director of National Intelligence.

He is also known for his earlier work as an aide to Congressman Devin Nunes, where he played a key role in challenging the investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election. Patel’s rise from a public defender to a significant political figure has made him a symbol of loyalty within Trump’s inner circle.

“I am incredibly proud to be part of this remarkable documentary,” said Patel, who hails from a Gujarati Indian family that immigrated to the U.S. via Canada. “Thanks to this unbelievable team, we have successfully articulated and condensed a series of often confusing and overlapping narratives into a cohesive and easy to follow exposition of the deep state and their operations.”

The documentary claims to expose the actions of "deep state" actors who, it alleges, manipulate government processes for their own agendas. The film, as described by its producers, also highlights the role of the media in fabricating scandals, which it says are often baseless.

Steve Bannon, who is closely associated with the film, expressed confidence in its potential political impact. “Government Gangsters is one of the best films I’ve ever been associated with. This is the type of movie that can change this election. By sharing this with your family and friends, you can make a difference. This could result in a two-to-five-point swing in the polls on November 5th,” said Bannon.

Director M.A. Taylor also emphasized the aim of the film: “The objective of this film is to shed light on the undue influence wielded by unelected bureaucrats within our government, who all too often use their power for nefarious ends.”

Patel, born in Garden City, New York, to immigrant parents from East Africa, has a diverse background in law and national security. After earning his law degree from Pace University, Patel spent eight years as a public defender, followed by a role as a trial attorney at the Department of Justice, where he focused on national security cases. He also served as a legal liaison to U.S. Armed Forces special operations.
