Nikhil Bhayani to be honored with IAOTP Presidential Award

He will accept his award at the IAOTP's Annual Awards Gala in December 2024.

Indian-American infectious disease physician Nikhil K. Bhayani, has been announced as the recipient of the Presidential Award in Healthcare 2024 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).

The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, innovation, and leadership in the healthcare field. Bhayani was selected for his contributions to advancing medical knowledge, enhancing healthcare services, and advocating for policy changes to improve community well-being. 

An assistant professor at the Texas Christian University’s Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine, Bhayani is the founder of DFW Infectious Diseases, a private practice in Bedford, Texas. He also serves as a physician advisor in infectious diseases and hospital epidemiology at Texas Health Resources, one of the largest non-profit healthcare systems in the U.S.

Additionally, he is the medical director for infection control and antimicrobial stewardship at Texas Health Resources Harris Methodist Alliance Hospital. Throughout his career, Bhayani has received numerous accolades, including the International Healthcare Leader in Infectious Diseases Award in 2022 and multiple Physician of the Year honors. 

Bhayani is a fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) and holds board certifications in internal medicine and infectious disease from the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also a noted author and speaker in infectious disease circles, emphasizing antimicrobial stewardship.

He has obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Utah, a medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, and specialized training at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, and the University of Illinois Chicago School of Medicine.
