Union Minister for Finance Nirmala Sitharaman is set to embark on an official visit to Mexico and the United States, starting Oct. 16.
During her U.S. visit from Oct. 20 to 26, Sitharaman will participate in several high-profile meetings. She will attend the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank. Additionally, she will take part in the fourth G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) Meeting, as well as the G20 Joint Meeting of Finance, Environment, and Foreign Ministers.
The visit aims to boost India’s economic engagement and contribute to discussions on global financial policy.
Sitharaman will also join discussions at the G7-Africa Ministerial Roundtable, addressing key global financial and developmental challenges.

Sitharaman will visit New York City and Washington, D.C., from Oct. 20 to 26. In New York, she will join a Pension Funds Roundtable at the New York Stock Exchange and interact with students and faculty at Columbia University and the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
She will also participate in the Global Sovereign Debt Roundtable (GSDR) and discussions organized by the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) and the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
Key bilateral meetings are scheduled with representatives from the UK, Switzerland, and Germany, as well as heads of the World Bank, ADB, EBRD, and financial institutions.
Sitharaman will attend a World Bank Group event on innovative financial solutions and speak at a panel on Bretton Woods Institutions (BWI) alongside global leaders, including Lawrence H. Summers, Spain's Carlos Cuerpo, and Egypt's Rania Al-Mashat.
During her first visit to Mexico from Oct. 17 to 20, she will lead a delegation from the Ministry of Finance.
