Nishi Ravi, an Indian counseling psychology student at Marquette University, has been named a recipient of the prestigious 2025 K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award by the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U).
The award recognizes graduate students who demonstrate exemplary leadership in teaching, learning, and civic engagement.
Originally from India, Ravi is a COSCA-qualified counselor and a queer-affirmative psychotherapist. Her extensive professional experience spans both public and private sectors across multiple countries, where she has worked with clients of all ages, including children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly.
She specializes in psychotherapy, psychological assessments, and psychodiagnostic testing, addressing a wide range of emotional and psychological complexities.
Beyond clinical practice, Ravi is an award-winning qualitative researcher and autoethnographer. She has facilitated workshops and group sessions, served as a panelist, and presented at conferences in India, the United States, Scotland, and England.
Her research focuses on therapist training, therapy processes, supervision, sex and disability, culture, trauma, and lived experiences.
