Grosvenor and EIH (East India Hotels Limited)London Investments announced that Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, a luxury Indian hotel group, will open its first UK hotel in Mayfair. The Oberoi Group is a luxury hotel chain headquartered in New Delhi, India.
The development will create 1,000 permanent jobs and 450 construction-related opportunities, with work beginning in November 2023 and completion set for 2027.
The project is part of a wider UK£6.5 million development, including office spaces, housing, cafes, restaurants, and public areas, designed to rejuvenate the area. The South Molton development, the largest in London’s West End, is a joint venture between Grosvenor and Mitsui Fudosan UK, aiming to provide modern office buildings and corporate headquarters in a highly desirable location.
Grosvenor’s Rachel Dickie expressed excitement about having Oberoi as an anchor for the project.
“This partnership with Grosvenor marks an important milestone in our international growth. London has always been a key market for us, and we are excited to bring our distinctive and personalized hospitality to the heart of Mayfair,” added Arjun Oberoi, executive chairman of The Oberoi Group.
