The Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) in the United States has initiated its 2024 election campaign, marking a pivotal role in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls on Mar. 3 at Washington D.C. As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) discloses its initial list of 195 candidates, the OFBJP is gearing up to contribute significantly towards the goal of winning 400 seats in the elections.

The campaign launch event showcased a presentation highlighting the notable achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in fostering social, economic, and technological growth in India over the past nine years. With the general elections anticipated between April and May 2024 to elect 543 members to the Lok Sabha, the OFBJP is mobilizing its forces.

To bolster support, more than 3,000 volunteers have enlisted for diverse election-related activities, including social media engagement, phone outreach, voter analysis, direct campaigning, and travel to India. Plans are in motion to make approximately 25 lakh calls from the U.S. to India, urging Indians to vote for the BJP and secure a third consecutive term for Prime Minister Modi.

The OFBJP has strategically organized a series of events nationwide, encompassing "Modi Ki Guarantee," "Mohalla Chai Pe Charcha," Car Rally, and Holi Milan, aiming to amplify its campaign impact.

"We reviewed the progress in each of the states and had a detailed presentation on the achievements of the prime minister Narendra Modi,We are planning to make 20 lakh calls to India to tell them why they should vote for Prime Minister Naendra Modi" said Dr. Adapa Prasad, President, OFBJP-USA.

Speaking on the significant role of the Indian diaspora, Devansh. S, a member of the National Policy Research Team of BJP, emphasized, "The Indian diaspora majorly plays three roles in the upcoming elections. The number one being reaching out to the friends and families back home and telling them to vote." Devansh underscored the importance of NRIs exercising their voting rights and combating misinformation through the influential medium of social media.

In light of the political landscape in Tamil Nadu, Karthik Raja, an OFBJP volunteer from Virginia, expressed optimism despite potential challenges. Raja stated, "You lose a battle to win a war. So this is a battle that they are going to lose probably, but eventually to win the war in the state because this time BJP is going in without any alliance." He predicted that 2026 would be intriguing for Tamil Nadu politics, emphasizing the BJP's growing presence in the state.

Kanwaljeet Singh Soni, the convenor of the Sikh affairs wing of OFBJP, echoed the enthusiasm, saying, "We are ready. Everybody's pumped up. Everybody's looking forward to it. This time we will cross 400 seats for the Prime Minister. He has done so much for the country and he is loved everywhere."
