Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) general counsel, Khalistani leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has threatened to destroy India’s economic system in March 2024. In his latest message to Khalistan-supporters, Pannun has called for targeting the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) starting March 12.

Pannun, a designated “terrorist” in India called for dumping of Indian stocks and purchasing American stocks before March 12. The date marks the 31st anniversary of the bombings in Mumbai, the financial capital of India, in 1993 where twelve explosions were carried out in a single day. It was Mumbai’s first brush with terror attacks, and the BSE building was one of the structures targeted.

This time around Pannun has called for targeting the building once more, however, the motive is to cause economic damage. He also identified banks and corporations that trade internationally among the targets, according to a report by News 18.

Pannun is notorious for issuing threats directed towards India and its supporters. In 2023, he called upon the Hindu Canadians to “Leave Canada -- go to India,” adding that some in the community were working to protect and promote the interests of India while enjoying economic benefits from Canada.

The Khalistani leader also called upon Canadians to boycott Air India and use alternate airlines that offered flights to India. He also threatened that failure to do so would result in “danger” to their lives. He later backpedalled saying he never intended to blow up Air India flights but intended to call for picketing at the airports to prevent takeoff and landing of AI flights in Canada.
