India will celebrate its 75th year as a Republic in January 2024. Like every year, the Indian diaspora in Canada’s Brampton City will also celebrate the occasion.
Panorama India with the support of the Consulate General of India in Toronto is organizing the Republic Day 2024 Celebration on January 28 at the Pearson Convention Center in Brampton.
The free event will include live performances and competitions for folk dance and art. The finalists of the Panorama Idol competition – a singing challenge – will perform for one last time at the event, and the winners in the adult, senior, and junior categories will also be announced at the event.
The finalists in the adult category are Santhosh Dayanathan, Remya Raman, and Shraddha Pai; finalists in the senior category are Shivdas Pai and Kirit Saujani, and Sadiq Mahmood; in the junior category are Adhira Hariharan, Atharva Rege, and Sahithi Yalamanchli.
In 2023, the Republic Day celebrations took place on January 29. The event saw a footfall of 150,000 people throughout the day. Around 10,000 people joined the Grand Parade from the venue to Nathan Phillips Square, carried out safely with the help of Toronto police and the event’s security team.
