Google CEO Sundar Pichai predicts significant changes coming to Google Search in 2025.
During his appearance at the New York Times’ DealBook Summit, Pichai emphasized the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in addressing complex user queries and delivering more sophisticated results.
He remarked that users would witness groundbreaking advancements in the functionality of Google Search as early as the beginning of 2025.
Pichai, referencing Google’s collaboration with OpenAI, expressed his belief that the company is at the forefront of a profound shift in AI technology. “I just think there’s so much innovation ahead. We are committed to being at the state of the art in this field, and I think we are,” said Pichai.
These developments are part of Google's broader strategy to integrate generative AI into its ecosystem, including its Search Generative Experience (SGE).
Pichai mentioned that this evolution would move beyond traditional "10 blue links," introducing intuitive answers powered by AI without requiring users to navigate multiple websites. However, this approach has sparked discussions about its impact on content creators and advertisers.
Google's long-standing investment in AI, supported by its extensive research and development resources, positions it to lead in this transformation.
