Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 17 joined Truth Social, the social media platform owned by U.S. President Donald Trump, expanding his digital presence.
Modi’s debut on the platform comes after Trump shared a video link of the former’s interview with prominent U.S.-based podcaster and computer scientist Lex Fridman.
"Delighted to be on Truth Social! Looking forward to interacting with all the passionate voices here and engaging in meaningful conversations in the times to come," Modi wrote in his first post with an image from the ‘Howdy Modi’ event, where he and Trump were seen holding hands.

Thanking Trump for the endorsement, Modi responded, "Thank you my friend, President Trump. I've covered a wide range of topics, including my life journey, India's civilisational outlook, global issues, and more."
During the three-hour podcast, aired on March 16, Modi emphasized his strong rapport with Trump, stating that both leaders share a deep commitment to prioritizing their respective nations.
"His life was for his nation. His reflection showed his America First spirit, just as I believe in Nation First. I stand for India first, and that’s why we connect so well. These are the things that truly resonate," Modi said.
Recalling a defining moment of their association, Modi highlighted Trump’s decision to disregard security protocol during the ‘Howdy Modi’ event in Houston in 2019. "I was touched by his courage and his trust in me," he said.
Truth Social, launched by Donald Trump in 2022, was created after his suspension from major social media platforms following the U.S. Capitol attack in 2021. In July 2024, Modi became the world’s most followed leader on X, surpassing 100 million followers. As of March 17, his follower count stands at 105.8 million.
