Prime Minister Narendra Modi held discussions with leaders of the Czech Republic, Mozambique, and Timor-Leste during the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar on January 10.

As part of discussions with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala, PM Modi acknowledged the collaboration between the two countries in areas of defense, railways, and aviation under the Make in India initiative. He also underlined that India's economic growth and the Czech Republic's strong industrial base make them ideal partners in the global supply chain.

The two leaders also celebrated the adoption of the Joint Statement for India-Czechia Strategic Partnership on Innovation as a noteworthy milestone in their bilateral relations. The partnership outlines a collaborative framework to capitalize on the synergies between India and Czechia in various sectors, including start-ups and innovation, cyber-security, digital domains, artificial intelligence, defense, and nuclear energy.

Furthermore, PM Modi welcomed President Jose Ramos Horta of Timor-Leste, reiterating India's commitment to strengthen the "Delhi-Dili” connection. This also marks the first-ever visit at the Head of State or Government level between the two nations.

During their meeting, PM Modi offered assistance to Timor-Leste in key areas of mutual interests, including capacity building, human resources, IT, fintech, energy, and healthcare. He also extended an invitation for Timor-Leste to join the International Solar Alliance (ISA) and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI).

President Horta, on the other hand, conveyed strong support for India's permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). The two leaders concurred on the importance of countries from the Global South aligning their positions on global issues, emphasizing the need for synergy among these nations.

PM Modi also held discussions with the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, reiterating India’s commitment to supporting Mozambique's development priorities. The two leaders covered various aspects to strengthen bilateral ties, including areas like defense, counter-terrorism, energy, health, trade and investment, and maritime cooperation.

President Nyusi expressed gratitude to India for its support in various development projects, appreciating assistance in boosting maritime security. At the same time, PM Modi proposed the idea of enhancing air connectivity between the two countries to bolster business, cultural exchange, and people-to-people relations.
