Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the celebrations of the International Day of Yoga at the United Nations Headquarters on June 21, a government news release stated. The event will mark the first stop of the Prime Minister's official State Visit to the United States.
The president of the United Nations General Assembly Csaba Korosi will participate in the special yoga session alongside the Prime Minister to mark the 9th annual celebration of World Yoga Day. Confirming the news, in a Twitter reply to Korosi, Modi said, “Looking forward to seeing you at the International Day of Yoga celebrations at the UNHQ. Your participation makes the programme even more special.”
