The highly anticipated sequel Pushpa 2 has stormed the global box office, shattering multiple records and setting new benchmarks for Indian cinema. Directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, the film opened on Dec. 5, raking in a staggering $35.4 million (₹294 crore) globally on its first day.

In North America, Pushpa 2 witnessed a sensational start, grossing $3.34 million from 1,026 locations on premiere day alone. This feat positioned the film as the third biggest opener for an Indian film in the region, following Kalki 2898 AD ($3.9M) and RRR ($3.5M).

The momentum continued as the film amassed $1.12 million from 719 locations on Dec 6 (Day 1) and $1.47 million from 769 locations on Dec 7 (Day 2), bringing its total North American box office collection to $7.2 Million and counting.

The film has already surpassed the lifetime collections of recent Telugu hits Hanuman and Devara, cementing its status as the seventh highest-grossing Telugu film in the region.

Critics and audiences have praised Allu Arjun’s commanding performance, particularly his portrayal in the goosebump-inducing 'Jatara' episode. Despite criticism of the storyline, the film's intense action sequences and emotional depth have kept audiences engaged.

Trade analysts predict that Pushpa 2 will hit the $8 million mark by the end of its opening weekend. With strong word-of-mouth promotion and sustained viewer interest, the film is well-positioned to achieve further milestones in the weeks ahead.
