Indian badminton champion PV Sindhu married Hyderabad-based businessman Venkata Datta Sai in an intimate ceremony held in Udaipur on Dec 22. The private wedding was attended by close family and friends.
For her big day, Sindhu chose an ivory tissue sari from designer Manish Malhotra’s EVARA collection, adorned with intricate badla and zardozi embroidery. The bridal ensemble included a headveil with gold zari borders inscribed with the couple’s names, adding a touch of romance and tradition.
Malhotra described the look on Instagram as “a bridal vision brought to life,” highlighting the ensemble’s Jamuna Ganga threadwork and elaborate inlay embroidery. Sindhu accessorized with a multi-tiered heirloom necklace featuring Zambian emeralds and uncut diamonds, along with matching earrings, bangles, and traditional bridal jewelry.
The groom complemented Sindhu in a brocade sherwani and dhoti, paired with a stole, jewelled buttons, and an heirloom emerald-and-diamond necklace from the same designer.
The couple hosted a grand reception in Hyderabad on December 24, attended by several celebrities from the entertainment and sports industries. Veteran actors Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna were spotted at the event, with Chiranjeevi arriving in a casual yet stylish outfit and Nagarjuna dressed in a classic black shirt and blue pants.
Actor Mrunal Thakur dazzled in a blue lehenga as she posed for photos with the newlyweds, while Tamil actor Ajith Kumar attended with his wife Shalini and their children. Ajith’s sleek black blazer and Shalini’s peach attire drew attention, while their son Aadvik charmed attendees in a floral kurta. Actor Adivi Sesh also joined the celebration to congratulate the couple.
