Rachin Ravindra included in NZ World Cup squad
He has secured a spot on the team as an additional spin option.

New Zealand has named its 15-man squad for the forthcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) One Day International (ODI) World Cup, set to take place in India from October 5. Notably, fast bowler Adam Milne, who recently recovered from an injury, was not included, while all-rounder Rachin Ravindra secured a spot on the team as an additional spin option.
Ranvindra, born to Indian parents in Wellington, New Zealand, made his international debut for the New Zealand cricket team in September 2021. He has been a notable presence in New Zealand's cricket journey.
The spinner participated in the 2016 and 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cups, where he exhibited his talent. Following the 2018 tournament, the ICC recognized him as the squad's rising star. In June 2018, he secured a contract with Wellington for the 2018–19 season, marking his transition to professional cricket.
He debuted in List A cricket for New Zealand A against Pakistan A in October 2018. Around the same time, he also made his first-class debut for New Zealand A, once again facing Pakistan A. In March 2020, Ravindra notched his maiden first-class century during the 2019–20 Plunket Shield season.
In April 2021, he earned a spot in New Zealand's Test squad for their series against England and the ICC World Test Championship final. By August 2021, he was included in New Zealand's T20I squad for their Bangladesh tour and the ODI squad for their Pakistan tour.
In June 2022, Ravindra signed with Durham County Cricket Club and marked his debut with a century, later converting it into his first double century in a first-class match, amassing 217 runs. His international journey reached a new high in March 2023 when he made his ODI debut for New Zealand against Sri Lanka.
