Colorado-based communications and leadership development nonprofit, Toastmasters International, has named Software engineer Radhi Spear as international president for 2024-25 tenure.
Spear, who works for AT&T in Middletown, New Jersey, was officially appointed during the Toastmasters International Convention held last month in Anaheim, California.
As international president, Spear leads Toastmasters' board of directors and will guide the organization’s mission of fostering leadership and public speaking skills.
She joins a newly elected executive committee, including international president-elect Aletta Rochat from South Africa, first vice president Stefano McGhee from Massachusetts, and second vice president Gauri Seshadri from India.
Spear, a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, specializes in software development, systems administration, and acceptance testing. Her work impacts millions globally, and she is involved in AT&T’s employee resource groups, including Women of AT&T and InspirASIAN.
A member of Toastmasters since 2000, Spear is a charter member of the AT&T Middletown Toastmasters Club. Throughout her two-decade-long association with the organization, she has held various leadership roles and earned the Distinguished Toastmaster designation—the highest recognition in Toastmasters.
"Toastmasters is an investment in yourself. The skills you learn in Toastmasters can be used in all aspects of your life," Spear remarked.
Spear holds a master's degree of science in electrical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
