India’s Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, will make a two-day visit to the United States beginning on April 21.

In the US, Gandhi will visit Rhode Island, where he will participate in an event at Brown University’s Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs.

The session titled “A Conversation with Rahul Gandhi” is organized by the Saxena Center for Contemporary South Asia and will take place on April 21. He will also interact with the university faculty and students.

During the visit, Gandhi will also meet with members of the Indian-American community, including non-resident Indians and representatives of the Indian Overseas Congress, the international wing of the Congress party.

Announcing the visit on X, Pawan Khera, chairman of the Congress party’s media and publicity department, wrote, “Former Congress president  Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Brown University, in Rhode Island, United States, on the 21st and 22nd of April. He will be giving a talk and interacting with faculty members and students.”

The upcoming visit is Gandhi’s second visit to the United States in recent months. In September 2024, Gandhi addressed students and faculty at the University of Texas and held meetings with diaspora groups in Texas and Washington, D.C. He has previously spoken at other major institutions including Harvard, Cambridge, and Stanford.

Brown University, an Ivy League institution founded in 1764, has hosted several international political figures in recent years.
