Actor Rajinikanth's ‘Lal Salaam’ has minted US$ 1.2 million (₹10 crore) in three days of its global release. The film is directed by his daughter, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, and features actors Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles.
Released on February 9, 2024, the film narrates the co-existence and harmony between two religious groups, Hindus and Muslims. It also talks about how local politics incite communal riots in the city.

Actor Rajinikanth plays the role of Moideen Bhai, while Vikranth plays the role of his son, Shamsuddin. Vishu Vishal plays the role of Thirunavukarasu / Thiru and the story revolves around the rivalry between the two teens, which can be felt on the cricket field.
‘Lal Salaam’ marks director Aishwarya's comeback after Dhanush's '3'. It also features actors such as Vignesh, Livingston, Senthil, Jeevitha, director KS Ravikumar and Thambi Ramaiah.
The film is produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the Lyca Productions banner. The film’s music is composed by AR Rahman, with cinematography handled by Vishnu Rangasamy and editing by B Pravin Baaskar.
