Tamasha, a newly opened restaurant in Raleigh’s North Hills, has been named one of the “50 Most Beautiful Restaurants in America” by OpenTable and People Magazine. It is the only restaurant from North Carolina to make the list.
Opened in February 2024, Tamasha offers a modern Indian dining experience. The restaurant is owned by Indian American duo Mike Kathrani and Tina Vora.
Kathrani moved from a career in IT in Mumbai to pursue his culinary dreams in the U.S. Vora, who has a background in IT management and interior design, designed the restaurant’s interior, which features a metallic light fixture and brass arches.
Executive Chef Bhavin Chhatwani, with experience in Michelin-starred restaurants and top properties in India, leads the kitchen. His menu includes both shared and composed dishes that highlight traditional Indian flavors with modern techniques. Chef Bhavin has also cooked for the Prime Minister of India.
The owners expressed their gratitude for Tamasha’s recognition that comes during Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. They are grateful for the community’s support and aim to continue providing a unique dining experience in Raleigh.
