Rama Kondru appointed as CEO of Verdix AI

He has over 20 years of experience in the biopharma, medical device, and data science sectors.

The Emmes Group has appointed Dr. Rama Kondru as chief executive officer (CEO) of its recently established venture Veridix AI.

Emmes Group executive chairman and CEO Sastry Chilukuri lauded Kondru’s unique set of skills and experiences in the world of technology. "His strong scientific, research, and academic credentials, in combination with successful, C-level roles in the life sciences sector, will be especially valuable as we work to create the technology and AI platform for 21st-century clinical research,” Chilukuri said.

With over 20 years of experience in the biopharma, medical device, and data science sectors, Kondru previously served as co-CEO at Medidata Solutions, a leading provider of software as a service and data analytics solutions supporting clinical research. Before that, he held the role of senior vice president and chief information officer at Janssen Pharmaceuticals - Americas, under Johnson and Johnson (J&J).

Prior to joining Janssen, Kondru held leadership and scientific positions at UCB Pharma and Hoffmann-La Roche. His extensive industry involvement also includes serving on the board of directors for several companies.

Kondru has contributed to over 29 patents as an inventor, earning recognition through multiple innovation awards. He earned his Ph.D. in computational sciences from the University of Pittsburgh and an undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai. He completed his post-doctoral research at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School and also worked as an adjunct professor at Duke University, North Carolina.
