Indian-American Democrat Ranjeev Puri has secured another term as the State Representative for Michigan’s 24th House District, winning the election with 59.8 percent of the vote over his opponent, Leonard Scott.

A strong advocate for Michigan families, workers, and diversity, Rep. Puri expressed his gratitude, saying, “Winning this election is not just a personal achievement but a collective victory. I'm deeply humbled, and it’s my greatest honor to serve. I look forward to continuing our work to make our community stronger and more prosperous.”

In his upcoming term, Puri, who also serves as the House Majority Whip, is expected to continue championing policies that prioritize equity and economic strength for Michigan communities.

Representing Canton Township, he has focused on initiatives that support the state’s economy, public education, infrastructure, and workforce development. His approach to leadership builds on a diverse background in financial consulting, work with President Barack Obama, and Detroit’s automotive sector.

Puri’s vision for Michigan’s future includes preparing for the challenges facing the automotive industry, modernizing infrastructure, and fostering a vibrant and diverse workforce.
