Rep. Krishnamoorthi joins Change InSight to highlight AAPI challenges
Chicago-based Change InSight is a coalition of 19 organizations dedicated to enhancing the lives of AAPI Americans

Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi recently launched Change InSight's second annual report. He was joined by Chinese American Service League (CASL) CEO Paul Luu and Indo-American Center Executive Director Angie Lobo.
Change InSight, a Chicago-based coalition of 19 organizations dedicated to enhancing the lives of AAPI Americans, concentrated its report on the risk factors encountered by Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities.
The report based on comprehensive responses from nearly 6,000 AAPI community members across the US. Some of the risk factors and challenges include English language barriers, poverty, stress, and educational attainment.
Congressman Krishnamoorthi, a key member of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) and the author of the Hate Crimes Commission Act, expressed commitment to actively seek solutions to overcome the challenges faced by the community.
He collaborated with Governor J.B. Pritzker to advocate for Census reform, aiming to enhance the accuracy of data collection. It helped in improving data for the government's distribution of federal funding, as well as for businesses and nonprofits that rely on it to support and advocate for various communities and organizations like CASL and the Indo-American Center.
“The needs of our AAPI communities can only be effectively addressed through accurate, granular data that recognizes the diversity within our community of communities. Change InSight’s second annual report demonstrates the value of this data as well as the unique needs of AAPI communities,” Krishnamoorthi said.
“In Congress, I will continue to support these efforts by fighting for the modernization of the Census Bureau and its methodology to improve the quality of government data on the AAPI community to ensure the funding and support we need,” he added.
