Prasanth Reddy, the Republican candidate for Kansas' 3rd Congressional District, has officially conceded the race to Democrat Sharice Davids. With 162,286 votes or 42.8 percent, Reddy came up short against Davids, who secured 201,878 votes, or 53.2 percent.
In his concession speech, Reddy expressed gratitude for the support he received throughout his campaign, saying, “It’s been the honor of a lifetime. While tonight’s outcome isn’t what we wanted, I’m so thankful for everyone who stood with us on this journey."
Reddy, who moved to the U.S. from Chennai, emphasized his belief in the American Dream, saying, "I’ve lived the American Dream and want to secure it for future generations." His campaign, supported by Republicans like Speaker Mike Johnson, highlighted his background as an oncologist and Air Force Reserve member. Reddy also backed stronger border control, including a U.S.-Mexico border wall, and identified as a "legal immigrant" while presenting more moderate views on abortion in the campaign's final weeks.
Despite the loss, Reddy says he remains committed to the values he campaigned on. “The values we campaigned on remain, and this is not the end of our fight," he said, signaling his continued dedication to his political goals.
