Michigan Founders Fund (MFF) has announced the appointment of Rishi Moudgil as its new executive director, marking a significant step forward in the organization's mission to grow Michigan's startup ecosystem into one of the country's most successful and inclusive hubs of innovation.
Moudgil previously served as the founding executive director of GreenLight Fund Detroit. During his tenure, he championed inclusive and scalable solutions to local challenges, enhancing the lives of Detroit families and serving as a model for similar initiatives nationwide.
His experience includes launching technology ventures and leading community-based projects in Southeast Michigan, as well as founding Michigan's pioneering statewide entrepreneurial support program.
Moudgil will use his expertise at MFF to increase the density of Michigan founders, allowing for greater access to capital and talent across the state. His appointment comes at a critical time for Michigan's entrepreneurial landscape, as the state experiences unprecedented growth in venture capital investment, an official statement stated.
Dug Song, MFF co-founder and board co-chair, expressed enthusiasm for Moudgil's leadership, emphasizing his alignment with MFF’s values and aspirations. "Rishi’s unique blend of organization-building and commitment to social impact is perfectly aligned with MFF’s mission," Song noted. "His vision will guide our efforts to further develop Michigan's collaborative economic culture."
Commenting on the new role, Moudgil expressed his dedication to supporting entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds in realizing their ambitions within Michigan while promoting community engagement and equitable economic opportunities.
"Joining Michigan Founders Fund during such a pivotal time is incredibly exciting," Moudgil remarked. "Together, we will continue to support and expand our reach within the startup community, fostering innovation and driving significant impact across the state we love."
