A fundraising concert, "Ek Shaam Apno Ke Naam," organized by SSS Entertainment on Nov.16, 2024, at the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott in Schaumburg, drew attention for its cause of supporting underprivileged children in India. Headlined by singer Rita Shah, the event featured a mix of music and community engagement, aiming to combine entertainment with philanthropy.
The evening began with MC Bhairavi Thakker setting the tone for the program. A prayer dance by Jainish Balsara followed, creating an ambiance of hope. Rita Shah then took the stage, performing a set of iconic songs, including "Mausam Hai Aashikana," "Rahe Na Rahe Hum," and "Betaab Dil Ki Tamanna." Her versatility and ability to connect with the audience were highlights of the evening.
In a duet with Sunil Shah, founder chairman of the Federation of Indian Associations, Rita Shah performed "Mera Pyar Bhi Tu Hai" and "Ander Se Koi Bahar Se Koi," which received warm applause. Sunil Shah’s birthday was also marked with a cake-cutting ceremony and a performance of "Bar Bar Din Ye Aaye" by Jay Chavda.
Rita Shah spoke about the power of music to drive change, saying, “Every note sung tonight carries the hopes of countless children.”
Performances by other artists, including Pratibha Jairath, Jitu Balsara, Jay Chavda, and Swapnil Shahu, kept the audience engaged. They delivered classic songs such as "Ehsan Tera Hoga Mujh Par" and "Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana." The evening’s high-energy disco medley featuring "Aap Jaisa Koi," "Laila Main Laila," and "Piya Tu" turned the event into a lively celebration.
Dr. Bharat Barai, a guest at the event, described the concert as “a musical masterpiece,” adding, “Rita Shah’s voice is like a river—flowing effortlessly yet powerful enough to stir the soul.”
The evening concluded with a slow medley, followed by dinner, where attendees discussed the concert and the cause it supported. The Sa Re Ga Ma Orchestra, led by Hitesh Master, provided live music throughout the event.
"Ek Shaam Apno Ke Naam" successfully combined music with philanthropy, raising funds and awareness for children in need. The event highlighted the potential of art to bring people together for a greater cause.
