Roga, GlobalSpace to promote mental health ecosystem

The collaboration will establish a novel platform named "GoRoga," which will be exclusive to India.

Roga, a US-based neurotech wellness company, has formed a strategic alliance with GlobalSpace Technologies Ltd., India's pioneering telehealth company. The collaboration, which includes a $35 million contract, not only marks Roga's first significant healthcare agreement, but also marks the company's official international expansion outside of the United States.

As India has a high population of people suffering from anxiety related mental health issues, and  just 0.75 psychiatrists per 100,000 people, the US-based firm believes its Roga Device, can benefit the general population, particularly for those who may not have easy access to other forms of mental health support.

The Roga wearable device sits behind the ears like a pair of headphones and emits a gentle electrical signal that targets the brain's fight-or-flight response and encourages alpha brain waves, which are associated with calm focus.

As part of the collaboaration, GlobalSpace and Roga will establish a novel platform named "GoRoga," to seamlessly integrate GlobalSpace's DocExa solutions with Roga's devices. Through GoRoga, healthcare professionals (HCPs) will gain the capability to recommend the use of Roga's device to their patients, supplementing their existing toolkit.

"Partnering with healthcare providers and companies has always been part of Roga's vision, as has been making our devices available to people outside the U.S.," said CEO Ami Lebendiker . "Stress is a global epidemic. Poor mental health is affecting people's quality of life around the world. We intend to be able to help people wherever they are, and today's partnership with one of the leading telehealthcare companies in India is a step in that direction."

"As a telehealth innovator in India, GlobalSpace and Roga were aligned on our core values of providing care in a convenient, accessible, and cutting-edge way that allows us to reach more people wherever they are," said GlobalSpace Technologies Ltd. CEO Krishna Singh.
