Oman’s rapidly expanding low-cost carrier, SalamAir, will commence direct flights between Muscat and Chennai, India from July 11, 2024.
The airline will operate two weekly flights to Chennai on Thursdays and Saturdays, an official statement noted. The flight from Muscat will depart at 11 pm (local time) and arrive in Chennai at 4.15 pm, (local time) while on the return leg flight from Chennai will take off at 5 am (local time) and land in Muscat at 7.25 am (local time).
The introduction of flights to Chennai marks a significant milestone for SalamAir, aligning with its mission to enhance connectivity between India and Muscat as well as across the region. With this service Chennai joins the airline’s growing list of destinations in India, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Trivandrum and Calicut.

The airline operates an all-Airbus fleet of six A320 Neos, six A321 Neos and one A321 freighter.
