Sangeeta Bharati, a Texas-based nonprofit that promotes Indian classical music and dance, has opened registrations for its music and dance examinations.
The organization, rooted in the Hindu faith and India’s rich cultural heritage, is dedicated to practising, performing, and promoting Indian classical music and dance in the U.S. It aims to unite practitioners and art lovers (rasikas) across the country.
As part of its mission, Sangeeta Bharati encourages students to continue their musical and dance practices throughout their college years. To support this, the organization is offering a $2,501 college scholarship to select eligible students.
The music and dance examinations are open to all with no age restrictions. Interested participants can register through the organization's website at Sangeeta Bharati Exam Registration. The last date to register without a late fee is Oct.12, coinciding with Vijayadashami.
Sangeeta Bharati also provides free learning materials, organizes outreach concerts, and conducts the renowned Dallas Navaratri Sangeetotsav.
