The visiting Scotland reiterated its supremacy over the hosts USA in the ICC ODI series by winning its second successive game with a convincing margin of 71 runs with six overs to spare. Scotland had won the first game by 10 wickets with 25 overs to spare.
The US made some changes in its team bringing in Sushant Modani, Sanjay Krishnamurthy and Utkarsh Srivastava, who all justified their inclusion with some good batting performances. Skipper Monank Patel, was again outstanding and took over the role of wicketkeeper from Andrias Gous before hitting his second successive fifty of the series.
Put to bat first, Scotland batters put up yet another dominant show piling 317 runs for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated 50 overs, thanks to a superb ton by Brandon McCullen (151) with excellent support coming from opener Charlie Tear (51) and Richie Berrington (26) before Michael Leask went on a hitting spree knocking off four hits to the maximum in his unbeaten knock of 33 made from 11 balls.

After opener Andrew Umeed left, Charlie Tear was joined by Brandon McCullen. They went after the home team bowlers mercilessly putting up 104 runs for the second wicket partnership. When Charlie left, he had completed his fifty made from 82 balls with the help of two boundaries and a six. Brandon then figured in another useful partnership with Richie Berrington.
When Brandon McCullen left, he had not only completed his century but also crossed the 150 mark from 140 balls with eleven boundaries and six sixes. In the death overs, it was Michael Leask who put the US bowlers on the leather hunt with his big hitting remaining unbeaten on 33 from 11 balls. Saurabh Netravalker was the most successful US bowler with two for 69 while Jasdeep Singh ended with two for 85, including the wicket of Brandon.
Chasing a mammoth target of 318, the USA had a disastrous start losing its star bater Shayan Jahangir (9) and allrounder Shadley van Schalkwyk (0) before skipper Monank Patel joined Sushant Modani to provide initial stability to the innings. After Sushant left after well-made 25 from 45 balls with the help of three boundaries, Monank figured in another productive partnership with newcomer Sanjay Krishnamurthy.
After Monank Patel left with an individual score of 52 made from 45 balls with the help of seven fours, Sanjay Krishnamurthy found a dependable partner in Utraksh Srivastava. The two were associated with a 75-run sixth partnership. But their heroics were not enough to carry the home team anywhere near the victory target.
Sanjay Krishnamurthy scored 49 made from 54 balls with seven boundaries while Utraksh Srivastava top-scored for the home team with a well-made 67. He faced 63 balls and hit six boundaries and a six. Harmeet Singh chipped in with 14 runs with a boundary and a six.
