Seattle hosts first-ever Invest India Business Forum

The Consulate General of India in Seattle organized the event, uniting business leaders to explore investment in AI, healthcare, and agri-tech sectors in India.

The Consulate General of India in Seattle hosted the first-ever Invest India Business Forum (IIBF) on Jan. 27 at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center. The event was organized in collaboration with the Great Seattle Partners and The Northwest Seaport Alliance.

Several dignitaries and prominent CEOs from companies across the Puget Sound region attended the event, including Seattle City Council President Sara Nelson, Bellevue Mayor Lynne Robinson, Port of Seattle Commissioner Sam Cho, and Greater Seattle Partners President Brian Surratt.

Industry experts from sectors such as artificial intelligence, agri-tech, healthcare, higher education, and tourism presented detailed investment opportunities in India, showcasing the country's potential for growth and innovation across these industries.

The IIBF aimed to attract investments from the Pacific Northwest, particularly in high-tech sectors like AI, which is expected to add $500 billion to India's economy by 2025.

Presentations highlighted the Indian government's commitment to key industries, its skilled workforce, digital infrastructure, and supportive policies. The forum also showcased select Indian products for potential export to the Greater Seattle area.

The event featured five unique exhibits:

  • ODOP (One District, One Product) – Showcasing a distinctive cultural heritage product from each Indian state and union territory.
  • India: The Next Hi-Tech Investment Destination—Highlighting opportunities in India's technology sector.
  • Photo Exhibit: India Through Tim’s Eyes—Featuring iconic Indian tourism sites captured by photographer Tim Durkan during his visit in September.
  • Indian Wines and Distilleries—Showcasing India's finest wines and spirits, along with B2B meetings between Washington winery producers and Indian distillery representatives.
  • Araku Coffee—Offering samples of premium coffee from India’s Araku Valley for display and tasting.
