Senior Friendship Group Chicago celebrates cultural Diwali

The Senior Friendship Group Chicago marked the joyous occasion of Diwali with a celebration at Golf Maine Park District, Illinois. The festivities, which spanned the entire day, included breakfast featuring Diwali delicacies, including ghooghra, cholafli mathiya farsi, and puri chawanan.
Lakshmi and Ganesh idols were placed against a decorative background. All guests and attendees collectively performed the traditional aarti and offered their prayers to the deities.Smita Parekh presented prayers of Sarva Dharma and Mayurashtakam.

President Harshad Parekh extended Diwali and New Year wishes to all attendees. He and his team were felicitated with shawls and bouquets by Pinki Dinesh Thakkar and Mukesh Mehta.
It was followed by celebrations of birthdays as well as entertaining performances by Jeetendra, Amit Pratibha, and Rita Shah. At the event's conclusion, the president and committee members distributed treats to everyone in attendance, fostering a spirit of togetherness.
