Sewa International has launched a relief fund in response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, which struck the US mainland on Sep.26. With 226 confirmed deaths and over 300 still missing, Helene has become the fourth-deadliest hurricane in modern U.S. history. The storm has displaced over 1,000 families and left critical shortages of food, water, and medical supplies.

Rescue teams continue to search for the missing in western North Carolina, a region that bore the brunt of the storm’s impact. The hurricane's heavy rains and winds devastated communities, washing out roads, damaging bridges, and leaving thousands without power or clean water. Communication outages have further isolated mountain towns, hampering recovery efforts.

Sewa International’s teams across the Southeast are working around the clock to clear roads and deliver essential supplies to affected areas. Volunteers are providing food, water, and medical aid to the hardest-hit towns and villages.

"Sewa's commitment is to provide immediate relief and help rebuild lives. We need all the support we can get to bring comfort to these devastated communities," a spokesperson for the organization said.

Donations to Sewa International’s relief fund will support efforts to:

Provide emergency shelter, food, and clean water for displaced families

Support medical care for those injured

Help restore power and communication infrastructure

Repair and rebuild homes and schools

To contribute to the relief fund, visit Sewa International’s donation page.

As recovery operations continue, Sewa International calls on individuals and communities to join in supporting the victims of Hurricane Helene in this time of need.
