New York-based writer and columnist Shomik Chaudhuri has been awarded the 2024 International Impact Book Award for his book Some Whispers From Eternity.

The award, established in 2019 by internationally bestselling author Nim Stant, recognizes impactful literary works that resonate with excellence. The International Impact Book Awards, presented in Phoenix, aim to celebrate stories that inspire and create change.

Some Whispers From Eternity delves into the evolution of consciousness and the upliftment of humanity through  Kriya Yoga, an ancient practice rooted in Indian spiritual traditions. It provides a step-by-step guide to this simplified form of Kriya Yoga, designed to make the practice accessible to a broader audience.

Chaudhuri’s initiation into Kriya Yoga was guided by Ramanandacharya Rajivlochanacharya, who received his knowledge from Kriya Baba, often referenced in spiritual literature, including the Autobiography of a Yogi.

At the award ceremony, Chaudhuri highlighted the urgency of fostering global unity. “The world is at a crossroads,” he said. “We must choose between a path that could lead to extinction and another that promotes love, compassion, and cooperation. Elevating human consciousness is vital for realizing our interconnectedness and achieving harmony.”

Chaudhuri’s book has been praised for its exploration of ancient yogic processes, which he described as tools for awakening innate energies and achieving higher states of consciousness.
An author with over three decades of experience, he has written extensively for publications such as The Statesman and United Nations Chronicle. He has also played a significant role in the Indian American print media as the CEO and COO of prominent newspaper groups.

A Harvard and Cornell alumnus, Chaudhuri represented the United Nations at the 1995 World Summit for Social Development in Copenhagen, where he advocated for the inclusion of spirituality in human development.
