The Sikh Coalition has urged the US authorities to investigate reports of alleged mistreatment faced by Sikh deportees, citing concerns over potential religious and human rights violations.

In a letter addressed to Acting U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Pete Flores on March.5, the Sikh civil rights organization highlighted allegations that Sikh individuals deported to India last month were subjected to harsh treatment, including being restrained for extended periods and having their religious articles confiscated. The letter has also been sent to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division for further action.
