Following the massive earthquake that hit Taiwan on Apr. 3, search and rescue operations continued as the death toll remained at nine, with over 1,000 reported injured.
Amidst the ongoing efforts, two Indian nationals were reported missing, according to various Indian media outlets. The missing individuals, a man and a woman, were last seen in Taroko Gorge, close to Hualien County, which was near the epicenter of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake.

The earthquake triggered 24 landslides and inflicted damage to roads, bridges, and tunnels across the region.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences and solidarity with Taiwan in the wake of the tragedy. "Deeply saddened by the loss of lives due to the earthquake in Taiwan today. Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured," PM Modi stated in a post.
